CLASS NEWS 5/08

A PARTICIPATION RUBRIC!

Check this out! We get to grade you every Monday based on this.

The Authority steps in!

The Authority steps in!

Right now it doesn’t mean anything grade-wise as far as I know, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Authority CAME FOR YOU if I marked you zero.

It would appear that they want to know what happened the PREVIOUS WEEK—so if I had great participation from you the week before this one, then none this week, I have to mark zero because it’s only for this week 5/4-5/8.

BUT, it also says that if you finished your work I can mark 3. This is contradictory, unless I give you new work every week, which I’m not going to do (if you’ve mastered the standards then new work is busy work).

Sooooo I think if you have an A and you did your identity paper, I will mark 3 even if I don’t hear from you.

AP TESTS

Last week I gave you documents to look at to prepare for the AP test. Don’t blow it off! There’s no penalty for doing poorly okurr!

To get to those documents go to the previous post or go to MENU > CLASSROOM > COMMUNICATION and scroll down. There is a checklist. It’s OPEN BOOK but you don’t have a lot of time so searching for stuff will kill ya. Keeping printouts of notes or another device with my stuff ready to go is a good idea but don’t rely on it too much. I’d have given you tons of open book tests had I known this would come to pass. YOU CAN DO IT.

QUESTION BOX

Q. What would be the first thing you would do or would go to once the pandemic is over?

The school appropriate answer is that I plan to see friends, lots of friends, in a public establishment of some type where there is refreshments. Did you know that I’m popular???

Q. What is the absolute maximum length that the Identity Paper can be? How long until you stop reading?

There is none. I WANT TO KNOW YOUR STORY and I love reading these! Tell me stories! Paint pictures! Be honest. Don’t worry about what other people are saying. The way to stand out is to write well—and that’s for what I am here.
